Uniting Culture And Business

I had the pleasure of leading the brand development for Bhavi, a new consulting company founded by my longtime collaborator and cultural pioneer Sherry Kizhukandayil. With a deep legacy in shaping progressive South Asian cultural platforms in Germany, Sherry has now launched Bhavi – an advisory company focused on shaping future-oriented German-Indian business and cultural relations.

The name „Bhavi“ comes from Malayalam (ഭവി), meaning „future“, and that meaning is at the heart of the project: helping European and Indian companies navigate the complexities of intercultural collaboration, product launches, diaspora engagement, and sustainable partnerships. Bhavi provides strategic consulting, curates cultural events, facilitates talent exchange, and builds long-term bridges between organizations across continents.

As part of the brand design, I developed a visual identity centered around a unique typographic gesture: the Malayalam character „Bha“, which also resembles the Latin letter B – a subtle visual metaphor for connection between cultures, scripts, and systems. The result is a brand that speaks with clarity and cultural nuance, designed to operate credibly across both corporate and community-driven contexts.

Sherry brings over two decades of experience – from founding theinder.net, to producing nationwide Indian events, publishing INDIA! Magazine, and managing major diaspora-focused campaigns for brands like Western Union and Qatar Airways. With Bhavi, he returns to his roots with a clear purpose. One sentence I proposed early on to sum up Bhavi’s positioning still holds strong: „We offer advisory for businesses that are relevant for the South-Asian diaspora.“

I wish Sherry all the best on this journey and will continue to support him wherever I can.
