School For Vedic Dance Art

When Reena Pathrose, an accomplished dancer and choreographer, asked me to design a logo for her dance school AGNI, I was immediately on board. Reena leads AGNI with heartfelt dedication – a school rooted in Vedic and classical Indian dance, but also a space for cultural exchange and personal artistic development, open to people of all ages and backgrounds.

Through AGNI, she not only teaches the foundations of Indian dance but also leads Bollywood workshops and performs on both national and international stages. Her work bridges tradition with contemporary performance, and the school itself reflects that same duality – expressive, inclusive, and grounded in deep cultural knowledge.

As there was no formal budget for the project and I truly valued what she was building, I chose a pragmatic approach to the design. The goal was to create something effective, memorable, and future-ready – a visual identity with clear recognition value and the flexibility to grow with the school over time.

Working on AGNI reminded me how design can serve as a quiet but powerful amplifier for those who carry culture forward with passion and commitment. It was not just about developing a logo – but about giving form to a space where movement, heritage and belonging are lived and shared.
